"Absolutely great place to visit. Wonderfully preserved home with so much history. There are a large number of original items and the rest are accurately and appropriately selected period pieces. Lovingly and carefully maintained and the tour guide that we had was super knowledgeable and very engaging. Perfect for the family and a must see."

"Even though it was closed when we stopped, I’m so glad we went. The fall colors were incredible, and the whole neighborhood had this peaceful, timeless feeling. 🍂 We really enjoyed walking along the old boardwalks, imagining what life might have been like when Abraham Lincoln lived here. It’s one of those quiet little places that just makes you slow down and appreciate history."

"Such a great tour! Abe Lincoln's son, Robert Todd Lincoln gave two conditions when turning over the house for the public. 1. The house would continue to be maintained, 2. The public would always be able to enter for free. An amazing piece of history, with only 15-20 admitted at a time. All you need to do is go to the visitor center and reserve tickets for your group. Great stop if you happen to be in Springfield, Illinois!"

"Really neat to walk through Lincoln's adult family home. Tour guide was informative. Stop at the visitor center across the street to arrange your tour. Lincoln's tomb is less than 10 minutes drive from there so make sure to visit that as well. Tickets were free, but need to reserve a time - first come first served."

"We stopped here in Springfield IL on our way home for one evening. We were able to visit the Lincoln home and this was very interesting. The entire area is set up like it was back in the day of Lincoln. The homes are old historic and beautiful. The national park service does an amazing job with this and their videos and presentations are great and very informative. We felt we learned a lot about Lincoln and how things were back. Thank You!"
