Mt Baldy Visitor Center

"I stopped by to buy my Adventure Pass since mine had expired. I made a quick visit to the visitor center—such a lovely little place to hang out—but I had to hurry because I still needed to do Baldy and only had about three hours of sunlight left."

"We actually did not make it to the visitor center because the cloud cover was very thick and the weather was cold, BUT the views were amazing on the way up, we traveled from Florida so we were not disappointed to have to turn around. We will be back in summer with a more appropriate vehicle"

"This is as wild as it gets for LA! Snow, rain, wind and wilderness as far as the eye can see. The visitor center is great too, you can see and get a vision of the early days on the mountain. You can also get details about hikes and paper maps. It’s worth it to stop at the visitor center. There is a little garden too and benches to hang out."

"There are so many trails! During winter, it snows here, and it looks amazing! There's a little river that you can see. Theres restrooms here and plenty of parking. Depending on the weather, i would recommend carrying a big jacket or a small sweater. Even during the summer, when the sun goes down, it's chilly under the trees. I recommend bringing sunblock and mosquito repellent. I would also recommend bringing a minimum of 2 water bottles per person."

"Only an hour from downtown LA, great local trail for a good work out. You’ll be hiking at altitude (10000 feet) on exposed terrain so bring plenty of water, sunblock, and take it slowly. To save some climbing you can take the snow lift up to connection with Devil’s Backbone. Windy at top so bring extra layers."
