"I absolutely loved my visit! I enjoyed the feeling of being completely immersed in the desert. The hiking trail was beautiful and there were so many incredible plants and rocks to see."

"A large mountain complex on the west side of the Rio Grande River, a bit north of Socorro along I-25, forms the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. Contained within some 360 square miles are four vast, biologically diverse plant and animal communities: desert, prairie, steppe, and woodland. The visitor center and gift shop provide additional information. Nearby, there are a couple of short to moderate trails. Entry to other parts of the Refuge is strictly limited."

"Our family had a wonderful experience at the visitor center. The gentleman at the desk was full of interesting information and even recommended coming back in December to see the herons at the waterfowl park nearby. Grandkids love the idea. We will be back to hike the trails."
