"Doing a research trip for my 2 older kids fall hunt. This place is really nice. Natural beauty like nothing else. The ranger in the office was super helpful and gave us that extra help that will hopefully be a positive experience for my kids. I'm looking forward to the week and hopefully my kids are successful."

"What a wonderful place just right outside Los Alamos, you would think you were in the far off mountains! As you go from the tree lined rim of the crater, down to the bottom, you notice the transition to grassland/meadow. You also notice how much colder it is at the bottom of the crater then at the top, so be prepared for windy conditions, especially if you’re going to go on a hike. We loved the visitor center, and we found numerous items to purchase there, including the cool T-shirt my wife found me. There’s also elk herds in the caldera, but they didn’t make an appearance."

"We could not believe the beauty of this hidden gem. It's an earlier geologic twin to Yellowstone but without all the tourists. So much to see. The dance of the coyotes and prairie dogs is very entertaining. The drive through Los Alamos is quite intriguing."

"Very informative rangers with great hands on exhibits. Not much to explore in the park itself"
