Valley Wells Rest Area - Southbound

"My first time stopping at the rest stop. Plenty of parking for cars and trucks. Very clean and tidy on the surrounding compound. There is a few tables and bench for picnic. There is also a short trail that you can check out, but beware of the dessert critters. There are 2 rooms with women's bathrooms / toilets. However, many stalls are out of order. And those that are available to use were hard to flush, thus many left without flushing it. (minus 1 star) I figured out to flush the toilet was to push the stick in, NOT down or up."

"Nice rest stop to stretch your legs . Rest room was clean but few are out of order. Pretty nice view of the mountains lots of vending machines."

"Life saver and more! Listen up! What can I say?! You are driving up or down Highway 15 to or from Las Vegas. You've been drinking lots of coffee to keep you alert behind the wheel, and BAM! All systems alerts rush to your head, letting you know it is stop and unload, or else! Most of us do not care about flooding while behind the wheels of our cars, so then the brain goes wild! All you can think of is "Where?" and then you see the Valley Wells Rest Stop sign! Get it?! Your heart is beating, you are getting muscle cramps, your brain is foggy, and all you can do is pull over into a spot and park! You're lucky if you remember to lock the car doors, but you do not run because you want to look cool! Once done and on your way back to the car, the place looks like heaven on earth to you, and that is why I am giving it a 4-star!"

"Pretty good area to rest. Truck and car parking. Usually fairly clean and stocked. Plenty of vending machines. Enough area to walk around and stretch your legs. One problem for those who drive an EV. The charging station appears to be working but has a problem. It won't lock into place on the car so it won't charge. Other than the charging station problem it is a pretty good place to rest. Baker, CA has charging stations and is 25 miles south so if you are in an EV, plan accordingly."
