"Great place to visit, the staff was friendly. The facilities are very well maintained. We watched the short film they had about the history abd it was very well presented. The museum had plenty of interesting displays also. Enjoyed the well maintained walking trails also."

"Nice air conditioned visitors center with displays, gift shop, information counter and restrooms. Park Ranger Kate was very helpful and informative. We stamped our passport books and picked up several brochures of other National historic sites in adjoining states. I purchased items in the gift shop."

"Beautifully maintained grounds and building set against a somber backstory. The trail around the center was informative and great for wildlife viewing."

"Great place to visit for some old history. It is a shame what Custor did to Black Kettle and his village."

"The Washita Battlefield Visitor Center is a hidden gem! The National Park Service staff was very friendly and helpful! The center itself is beautiful and full of art and history! I appreciated the visit more than I thought I would. I highly recommend visiting here if you are in the Cheyenne area! Nearby, there are hiking trails on the actual battlefield with informative stops along the way. The prayer cloths placed all over are very humbling. Overall, well worth the visit here!"
